|An old preacher lay dying on his bed. A man who was with him asked, "Reverend, would you like me to call someone to be with you at the last?"
The old preacher said yes and, "Please call the town's lawyer and the town's insurance agent."
The man did so, but though they both came, they were puzzled because neither of them had had any close ties with the preacher. When they arrived at his deathbed, he said, "Ah, thank you for coming, dear brothers." He then had each of them stand by his bed, the lawyer to his left and the insurance agent to his right, and he took hold of each one's hand and sighed in peaceful contentment. The two confounded men stood there silently for a while. Finally the lawyer asked tentatively, "Reverend, I was just wondering...why did you ask us here...?"
The old preacher opened his eyes and said, "Well, Jesus died between two sinners, and I wanted to go the same way."
